Liverpool offers a variety of Afternoon Tea venues catering to all crowds, from punk afternoon tea to traditional afternoon tea on a rooftop venue that boasts views of the City – we have it all!

We have hand picked our five favourite afternoon tea venues to help you narrow down your list when staying in the City Centre.

Baltic Social

If you’re not a fan of a traditional Afternoon Tea then head straight to Baltic Social located in the bustling Baltic Triangle. Baltic Social have added a twist to traditional Afternoon tea by switching out sandwiches for mini burgers and chilli nacho cups and switched Victoria sponge for the likes of a cookie sandwich. They also offer a variety of afternoon tea, punk cocktails if you’re tired of Prosecco.

The punk afternoon tea is also available for vegetarians, the burgers are switched for deep fried halloumi and Quorn dogs – no veggies are being left out around here!

The punk afternoon tea is perfect for groups on a weekend away but also for your picky kids who don’t appreciate the old cucumber sandwich.

Oh Me Oh My

Afternoon tea with a view of Liverpool’s infamous skyline? Whether you’re visiting in Summer and want to soak up some rays whilst nibbling on miniature sandwiches and cakes or you’re on a winter retreat and want somewhere outdoors with blanket and heaters – Oh Me Oh My can cater to your needs.

The expansive rooftop sits on top of West Africa House, a refurbished 1920s world heritage site. So not only will you be enjoying afternoon tea, you’ll be getting a taste of Liverpool’s history – bonus!

The afternoon tea menu is seasonal so you can expect refreshing summer treats such as a lemon drizzle cake and in winter a delicious cinnamon spiced mince pie. You can choose to opt for tea/coffee, Prosecco, Champagne or a Cocktail with your afternoon tea.

Cuthberts Bakehouse

Cozy, traditional and homemade. There are no three words that can describe Cuthberts more perfectly.

Choose from two afternoon tea options; Best of British or Taste of New York. The British afternoon tea as I’m sure you’ve already guessed comes with a selection of five sandwiches, from Ham and English Mustard to Egg and Cress. Served alongside the most important part of your Afternoon Tea, a freshly baked scone served with clotted cream and summer berry jam.

Finished off with a selection of sweets; Victoria Sponge, Eton Mess, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Lemon Drizzle, Homemade Teatime Dunkers and Cuthberts signature Almond Custard – yes you will need rolling back to your hotel room.

Claremont Farm

Fancy heading out of the city centre and breathing in some of that fresh countryside air? Claremont farm Is located in the Wirral, around a 20 minute drive from Liverpool City Centre but it is well worth the journey if you’re here with your kids. Claremont farm offers fruit picking and has a variety of animals you can go and visit and get up close with.

Claremont farm is known for supplying some of Liverpool’s most popular restaurants with their fresh produce. So you know when you head to the beautiful on site café for your afternoon tea, you’re only going to be served the freshest produce.

Don’t expect a super traditional afternoon tea but there are some familiar elements. To switch it up a bit, Claremont present you with a two tiered stand with Sandwiches and a sneaky pork pie or Quiche, depending on the day. You’ll find a variety of sweet treats from the traditional scone and cream to an almond tart or sticky toffee cupcake. If you’re a fussy eater you’ll always find something you like on the Claremont farm Afternoon Tea plus they have a gluten free option!

Arts School

Looking for something a bit fancier than usual, want to push the boat out for someone special? Head straight for the critically acclaimed arts school.

Forget cheese and ham sandwiches and plain old Victoria Sponge, you’re in for a whirlwind at The Arts School. Corn-fed Goosnargh chicken with curried Raby egg, spring onion, mayonnaise and watercress on brioche is just one of the sandwiches on the menu followed by an Earl Grey Macaron, Strawberry Chouquette filled with crème diplomat and we will leave the rest to be a surprise when you get there!

Prices vary depending on which drink you choose to accompany your very fancy afternoon tea, but you can choose from tea/coffee, Paparazzi Prosecco or Charles Heidsieck Champagne – we’d go for the latter!
